Professor Dr. Rusli bin Haji Abdullah is a Senator and member of Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), specializing in Software Engineering and Knowledge Management. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in 2006. With a career spanning since 1996, Dr. Rusli has published over 14 books and 160 research papers, achieving an h-index of 18. He has contributed to articles in Malaysian newspapers on emerging technologies such as Smart Agriculture and ChatGPT. He has received numerous awards, including multiple medals for university research inventions.
Dr. Rusli has held various administrative positions, including Head of the Software Development Institute at UPM and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (CSIT) from 2009 to 2014. He was the Dean of CSIT from 2019 to 2021. He has served as a keynote speaker at several international conferences and has been involved in numerous research grants, both nationally and internationally. He has also consulted for universities in Saudi Arabia and Malaysia’s IT Development Council (MDeC). Additionally, he is an editor and reviewer for multiple academic journals.
